A Weekend of Nothing

After several weekends filled with birthdays, Patriots playoff football and other commitments, it will be good to have a weekend with a clear calendar for once. I’m sure the weekend will contain various home improvement projects, vacation planning, a little work-work, and hopefully some recreational activities like working-out or going skating with family.

I hope everyone has as relaxing a weekend as I’m planning.

A Good Start this Week

Getting my 30 minutes a day on the treadmill, switching to oatmeal or Kashi every morning, and staying away from sugary, fatty snacks, I have lost 6 pounds this week already. Drinking a lot of water certainly helps as well. Need to shed about 12 pounds to get back to where I was a year ago. Let’s see if I can keep it up for several months this year. I really need to drop about 30 pounds in all. Maybe journaling here will be my inspiration.

A Great Family Day

Had a great day hangin’ around the TV and celebrating another birthday for Dad yesterday. Love to hear his passion for BU hockey and I hope he enjoyed the new hat I got him as his Terriers face the BC Eagles in the Beanpot Championship tonight. Too bad it wasn’t my Northeastern Huskies his team was facing. Maybe next year.

Knockem’ Down in the Dark

My wife, daughter and I went bowling the other day as a way to get out of the house during school vacation and to do something as a family. We visited the Lighthouse for some GlowBowl at Leda Lanes in Nashua New Hampshire. This is a an interesting place because much of the interior is colored in iridescent colors to leverage the black lights used light the bowling area. Electronic scoreboards and automatic lane bumpers allows for a hassle-free time for the family. Bowl more often!
